Terms of Use

1. About RIVO Careers

RIVO Careers is operated by Rivo Careers Inc. ("RIVO," "we," "our," or "us"), a Canadian corporation based in Toronto, Ontario. RIVO is a career discovery, organization, and productivity platform designed to assist students and early-career professionals in identifying, tracking, applying to, and preparing for internship, co-op, and entry-level employment opportunities. RIVO serves users in Canada and the United States, and offers both a free job board and a paid SMS-based Auto Apply agent.

RIVO Careers aggregates and displays job listings and career-related information sourced from publicly available third-party sources, including employer websites and external job boards. RIVO Careers is not an employer, recruiter, staffing agency, headhunter, or hiring intermediary, and does not participate in hiring decisions.

All employment decisions, interview processes, offers, and employment terms are determined solely by third-party employers. RIVO Careers does not guarantee job availability, interviews, responses, offers, or employment outcomes.

By accessing or using RIVO Careers, you acknowledge that the platform is an information and organizational tool only.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing, browsing, creating an account, or using RIVO Careers in any manner, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, and all applicable laws and regulations. If you do not agree, you must discontinue use of the Services immediately.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years of age to use the RIVO Careers Services, including the free job board, the SMS agent, and Auto Apply. By using the Services, you represent that you meet this age requirement and have the legal capacity (or, if you are a minor in your jurisdiction, the consent of your parent or guardian) to enter into this agreement.

4. Services Provided

RIVO Careers provides:

• Aggregated job discovery tools
• Application tracking and organization features
• Career-related insights and productivity tools
• An optional, paid SMS-based Auto Apply agent that fills and submits job applications on your behalf when you opt in

For manual browsing on the free job board, RIVO does not submit applications on your behalf and does not represent you to employers — you apply yourself on the employer's page.

If, and only if, you opt into the SMS agent and Auto Apply, RIVO acts as your authorized agent to fill and submit applications on your behalf, as described in Section 5 ("Authorization to Apply on Your Behalf") and Section 17 ("SMS Program"). RIVO is never an employer, recruiter, staffing agency, or hiring intermediary, and does not make hiring decisions.

5. Authorization to Apply on Your Behalf

When you opt into the SMS agent and Auto Apply, you appoint RIVO as your authorized agent for the limited purpose of discovering, preparing, and submitting job applications on your behalf. By opting in, you grant RIVO permission to:

• Access your connected email on a read-only basis (Google OAuth scope gmail.readonly) solely to confirm applicant-tracking-system (ATS) accounts that RIVO creates for you and to detect recruiter replies, interview invitations, and rejections so that your application tracker stays up to date. RIVO cannot send, delete, or modify any email.
• Create accounts for you on third-party applicant tracking systems (for example, Workday and Greenhouse) where required to apply.
• Fill and submit application forms on those systems as your authorized agent, using the profile, resume, answers, and other information you have provided.
• Where you have voluntarily chosen to provide it, auto-fill the voluntary equal-opportunity sections of applications with the demographic information you supplied.

RIVO does not fabricate, invent, or alter your information. RIVO submits applications using only the information you provide, and you are solely responsible for the accuracy, completeness, and lawfulness of that information. Applications are submitted as-is based on your inputs.

This authorization is entirely voluntary and continues only for as long as you keep Auto Apply connected. You may revoke it at any time by disconnecting Auto Apply and revoking email access in your Settings. Revocation does not affect applications already submitted before revocation took effect.

RIVO's access to and use of your email data complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. This data is never sold, leased, or used for advertising, and is used only for the features described above. For more detail, see our Privacy Policy.

6. Auto Apply Accuracy & Liability

Auto Apply submits applications using the information you provide. Because RIVO acts only on your inputs and does not control third-party systems or employers, you acknowledge and agree that:

• RIVO is not liable for rejections, filtering, or errors caused by applicant tracking systems.
• RIVO is not liable for employer decisions, non-responses, or hiring outcomes.
• RIVO is not liable for errors, omissions, or consequences arising from inaccurate, outdated, or incomplete information you supplied.
• Applications are submitted as-is based on your inputs; RIVO does not guarantee that any application will be accepted, reviewed, or result in an interview or offer.

You remain responsible for reviewing the information in your profile and keeping it accurate and current.

7. Job Listings & Third-Party Content Disclaimer

All job listings and employer-related content displayed on RIVO Careers are sourced from third-party, publicly accessible sources.

RIVO Careers:

• Does not verify the accuracy or completeness of listings
• Does not guarantee listing availability or validity
• Does not control employer content, timelines, or hiring decisions

Employers may modify or remove listings at any time without notice. Users acknowledge that reliance on any job listing or third-party content is at their own risk.

8. User Responsibilities & Acceptable Use

Users agree to:

• Use the platform for lawful, personal career-related purposes only
• Provide accurate account information
• Not misuse, scrape, reverse-engineer, copy, or resell platform content
• Not impersonate others or misrepresent affiliations

RIVO reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

9. Intellectual Property Rights

All platform content, including but not limited to software, design, branding, databases, text, graphics, and features are the exclusive property of RIVO Careers or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws.

Users are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the platform for personal, non-commercial purposes.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, RIVO Careers shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from:

• Use or inability to use the platform
• Reliance on job listings or third-party content
• Employer actions or hiring decisions
• Applicant-tracking-system rejections, filtering, or errors
• Errors or outcomes arising from inaccurate or incomplete information you supplied for Auto Apply
• Data loss, delays, or service interruptions

11. No Warranties

RIVO Careers is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless RIVO Careers, its affiliates, officers, and employees from any claims, liabilities, damages, or expenses arising from:

• Your use of the platform
• Violation of these terms
• Misuse of third-party content

13. Termination of Access

RIVO Careers reserves the right to suspend or terminate access to the Services at any time, with or without notice, for any violation of these terms or misuse of the platform.

14. Payment & Subscription Terms

Certain RIVO features are paid. AI document tailoring and Auto Apply run on a shared credit pool: the free tier includes 3 lifetime AI-tailoring credits, and the paid subscription includes 200 credits per month.

• Subscriptions and payments are processed by our third-party payment processor, Stripe. RIVO does not store your full card details.
• You may cancel your subscription at any time from your Settings. After cancellation, your access continues through the end of the paid period you have already paid for.
• Subscriptions do not auto-renew after you cancel; you will not be charged for a further period once cancellation takes effect.
• If an Auto Apply attempt fails or errors before an application is successfully submitted, the credit used for that attempt is re-credited to your account. Credit re-crediting is handled in credits only and does not entitle you to a cash refund.

Except where required by applicable law, fees already paid are non-refundable, and credits have no cash value.

15. SMS & Passwordless Accounts

RIVO accounts are created and accessed using your mobile number through SMS magic-links and one-time passcodes (OTP), rather than a password. By using RIVO, you are responsible for maintaining the security of your mobile number and device, and for any activity that occurs through access to your number. If you lose control of your number or device, or suspect unauthorized access, you must contact us promptly. RIVO is not liable for losses arising from unauthorized access resulting from your failure to safeguard your phone or number.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms and Policies from time to time. Continued use of the Services after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

17. SMS Program

Rivo offers an optional SMS-based internship agent. When you opt in with your mobile number, Rivo texts you internship matches, lets you approve or decline them by reply, applies to approved roles on your behalf as your authorized agent (see Section 5), and sends confirmations and account notifications.

By opting in, you agree to receive recurring, automated text messages from Rivo. Consent to receive these messages is not a condition of purchase or of using the platform.

• Message types: internship matches, application updates, and account notifications
• Message frequency varies based on new matches and your activity
• Message and data rates may apply
• Reply STOP to cancel and stop receiving messages at any time
• Reply HELP for help

Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. For details on how we handle SMS data, see our Privacy Policy.

18. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

You agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the Services shall be brought exclusively in the courts located in the Province of Ontario, Canada, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction and venue of those courts.
